Hai guys! I have a backlog of posts from over the weekend but I did these last night and I COULDN'T WAIT TO SHOW YOU.
The weather here in good ol' Georgia has been cloudy/rainy for days now and it's depressing the shit out of me, so yesterday I decided that neon was the cure. Specifically, ALL OF THE NEON.
I was going to do multicolor skittles and replicate the little dotted heart tips I did sometime last week, but then I got an image of neon stars pooping rainbows (um... puking rainbows? trailing rainbows because they're stars and they don't poop? or puke? WHATEVER) and I couldn't get the image out of my head so I just had to go ahead and do it.
The base color pink is Orly - Beach Cruiser, which, as well all know, is my favorite neon pink EVER. That awesome sparkly-ish neon purple is China Glaze - Flying Dragon, one of my other favorite neons even though it's kind of dark for a neon. The green is China Glaze - In the Lime Light and the blue is Orly - Skinny Dip, and they both have this pretty little shimmer that makes them that much more awesome. The coral is China Glaze - Pool Party, and though it looks extremely similar to Beach Cruiser in most of these pics, they are really easy to tell apart IRL.
I wish that neons weren't effing impossible to photograph because these pictures seriously do NO justice to how bright these are in real life. SO BRIGHT. I wish it was sunny so I could see how extra-bright they'd be in the sun but I'm also afraid they would literally blind me.
It was already late when I started these nails and they took me way longer than I expected, so I kept it simple on righty with a coat of China Glaze - Fairy Dust over Beach Cruiser. These are like sparkly Barbie princess nails on crack. I love them.
These nails have definitely had the intended effect of cheering me up! I think if I ever do them again I'll do a white/neutral base so all the neons pop more. I love how ridiculous these are, though. What do you guys think?

Holy crap, these are amazing! Stars and neon colours = love. Did you use a punch for the stars? By the way, I love your nail shape!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I freehanded the stars, it was actually easier than I thought... I just painted them like everyone draws them in elementary school (with the five connecting lines or whatever) and filled them in! I've spent a long time growing my nails out/shaping them exactly how I want haha so thank you :)
