Hi everybunny! Happy Tuesday! Welcome to part 2 of one million of my On Safari nail art series/obsession/catharsis. I can't stop. I guess maybe we can make this On Safari Week? On Safari Month? On Safari FOREVER??
This design came from one of those times when I knew what colors I wanted to use but had no clue what I was going to do with them until I was actually doing it. I kept thinking of dotted half-moons but then right as I was about to start on them I thought of making the dots descend in size to the edges and I love the way it ended up looking! I think it looks like my nails are wearing little necklaces.
The beige is China Glaze Kalahari Kiss, one of my new favorite neutrals. The glitter is China Glaze I'm Not Lion, which... I love, obviously. I liked Purr-fect Plum and Kalahari Kiss together so much that I almost didn't add the glitter, but once I tried it on one nail I loved how it looked even more so I went for it.
As part of the same clearance haul I talked about yesterday I somehow had the unbelievable fortune of picking up two of the Finger Paints flakies I didn't have (for $1.64 each!) and I really wanted to use Finger Paints Flashy over Purr-fect Plum on my right hand.
This is one of those times where my left-hand nail art was so simple that I easily could have replicated it on my right hand but I was dying to use that flakie. Do you guys ever do that? Paint your hands differently because you just can't decide? Am I crazy?
God, just LOOK at those flakies, though. They look like embers on this base color and they really bring out the red tones of the plum. And that COLOR SHIFT! Hnnggg.
Alrighty, that's all for today, guys! Do you have any of the FP flakies? Do you love them? I forgot how much I loved them for a while but now I remember. So much.

I have to do this! I love it sooooooooooooooo much
ReplyDeleteYou totally should! It literally could not be easier and I think it looks so pretty! Thank you! :)
DeleteI saw a pintrest board with "NailNarcotics" on it, but the pic had been cropped to say "ilNarcotics" and it made me giggle :x
DeleteThose are so pretty and dainty. I love them.
ReplyDeletethank you! I thought they were super dainty and girly too :)
DeleteThe first thing I thought was 'necklaces!' too! I love this design- so simple and dainty :D The descending dot size is definitely a nice touch, rather than keeping a uniform size :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I liked the descending dot size a lot and I love that your first thought was necklaces too!
DeleteWell, well, well. That first picture goes right to my "inspiration" folder :D Lovely, and totally accurate: your nails wear little neckalces!
ReplyDeleteThanks lady! I'd love to see if you replicate them!
DeleteThe necklace is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love the necklace idea! Never seen it before and it looks so cute! Reminds me a bit of a half-moon mani.
ReplyDeletethanks lady! I've never seen it before either, it's so simple though! It's like a much easier (lazier) take on the half-moon haha.
DeleteI do the different hands thing sometimes! For a neon skittle mani I changed the colors of my thumbs just so I could use one polish that I thought would go really well with it and for the fingers I changed the order on both hands. Then, when I got my first A-Englands I couldn't decided so I put one on each hand, hehe. :D Great mani!
ReplyDeletehaha good I'm glad I'm not alone! Especially when you get several polishes you love at the same time - how do you choose?? also, thank you!
DeleteI can't even begin to describe how much I love these!!
ReplyDeleteomg thank you so much girrrl :D
DeleteThis looks amazing! I may have to do something similar to this for my half moon manicure for the 31 day challenge!
ReplyDeletethank you! I'd love to see if you try it out!
Deleteoh wow, these are amazing! So pretty, the colour combination is perfect:) And no, you're not mad, I love doing different designs on different hands - I feel it's the way forward.
ReplyDeletethank you! Haha that's an awesome way to think about it. The way of the future!!
