Hey everyone! I got home super late from work last night (ARRGGHHH TRAFFIC) and I didn't have time or energy to do anything fun with my nails, so I'm bringing you some pictures of what I wore yesterday... OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest!
I have been wanting this polish for a long time now and every time I saw swatches of it it made me want it even more. I went to Ulta in search of it a few weeks ago but they were having the sale on OPI polishes where you got a free top or base coat when you bought 2, so the entire Germany collection was wiped out. I was so bummed! But I finally snagged it this past Sunday when I went polish shopping with my sisters and I'm so glad I did.
The first two pictures are outdoors in natural light and you can see that it brings out a lot of the red shimmer in the polish. I was so surprised by how red this polish looked in the bottle because it looked so purple in all the photos I'd seen. My sister and I were like uhh... is this really... the right polish? I DON'T UNDERSTAND. But I think the red shimmer is much more apparent in the bottle which is what gives it that red look.
The previous picture and next picture are with flash, which brings out the amazing purple/blue shimmer and the deep purple base color more. I LOVE the way it looks in these pictures. It was cloudy all day yesterday but if we had had some sunshine I imagine this is what it would have looked like in the sun.
Do you guys own this polish? Were you as surprised as I was when you saw it in the bottle for the first time? It didn't look at all like I was expecting but I'm so glad I still bought it because it's SO PRETTY.

OMG! It's my wishlist number one ever! I'm so jelaous. U'r so lucky to ve bought it...
ReplyDeleteLooks so pretty in very kind of light- even more cause ur nails shape... The colour is so deep, so beautiful... What can I say? I straightly LOVE this polish!!!
thank you so much! you definitely have to get it if you can - it's soo pretty!
DeleteI'm still kicking myself for not getting it when I could. I only picked the mini set of this collection.
ReplyDeleteYour swatches are great, very neat! and you have gorgeous hands!
oh no! well, i found mine at ulta just a week or so ago and they're on ebay too so i'm sure you can still get it!
Deletealso, thank you! :)
This is my favorite polish of the collection. I own it and have swatched and worn it and I STILL oohh and ahhh whenever I see it. Great swatches!
ReplyDeletethank you! i only got three polishes from this collection i think and this one made me ooh and ahh every time i saw it haha.
DeleteI want this colour too, it's so pretteh! I too have always seen it looking more purple than red. Maybe I'll pick it up the next time I see it!
ReplyDeleteyou definitely should! it's quite the chameleon for sure.
DeleteI have this and I love it! When I started swatching my collection on nail wheels I was grouping them by colour and this was one that I had no idea what to do with. I ended up putting it with the reds because of the red shimmer and how at full opacity you don't notice the purple base as much. But really it could have gone either way!
ReplyDeleteI also really boggled over my Zoya Feifei and RBL Anne. I should have just made a "I don't know wtf" wheel.
hahaha "hey shannon what's this wheel? it doesn't seem like any of the colors go together!"
Delete"oh that's my i don't know wtf wheel."
i want one of those now!
I just LOVE this color!
ReplyDeleteOooooh, this is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteOh my god, the deep, glittery yumminess of this colour flabbergasts me.

ReplyDeleteEvery Month Is Oktoberfest is one of the most beautiful polishes I own, plus it's vampy and that's always good :D Funny story - when OPI first sent out the press packages of this collection to a bunch of bloggers, it came out that some of the packages had the wrong labels; Every Month Is Oktoberfest was switched with Germanicure By OPI. So when I first spotted it in the store and saw the red shimmer, I was convinced they had gotten it with switched labels too. In fact, when I put the two shades side by side, they looked pretty much identical in the bottle. Thank goodness that I still picked up a bottle because when I got home and swatched it, as soon as I saw the gorgeous purple base, I knew it was indeed the colour I'd been lemming for! I almost cried of happyness :D
