Geometric Challenge day 3 - triangle

Hi friends! Today is day 3 of the geometric challenge, and the theme is triangle. MY FAVORITE!

Funny story about this theme... I was accidentally left off the email chain so I found out that we were starting the challenge only the day before we actually started the challenge and was totally unprepared haha. BUT the day I found out that we were about to start, I had already done these nails but not posted about them so I was like PERFECT, I'LL SAVE THEM!

When I started this mani I had no idea what I was going to do. I painted my thumb and ring finger in Floss Gloss Perf, my middle and pinkie finger in Floss Gloss Wavepool, and my pointer finger in Floss Gloss Stun. I sat there and looked at them for a while and thought about it for a while and finally was just like, okay, triangles. I wanna do some triangles. I love triangles! Let's do those.

So I took my striper brush and freehanded some triangle explosion type shapes using Stun on all my fingers except my pointer. Then I outlined them in the opposite colors from the base and painted triangles over the glitter. I left the glitter explosion plain on my ring finger to switch it up and also because I liked that shape a lot by itself haha.

I considered leaving my pointer finger solid gold and then quickly became unsatisfied with that decision. So I painted on blue and pink explosion shapes and almost stopped there but they just needed a little more. Finally I outlined the  explosions in opposite colors and called it a day. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

My cousin commented on how 80s these looked and I had to agree.

On my right hand I decided to do glitter gradients. Are you guys surprised? I know this isn't the norm for me. I did gradients partially because I was too lazy to repeat the same design on my right hand but mostly because I LOVE the way Stun gradates. I mean, just look at it. *sighs dreamily*

I loved wearing these nails SO MUCH because they were literally a combination of all my favorite nail art things: triangles, glitter, blue and pink together, 80s-style design, and glitter gradients. I was sad to take them off! What do you guys think about them?

  1. Love these! The color combo is great... the glitter keeps the blue and pink from looking too baby showerish. You are also the Queen of Geometric Nails as well as striping tape!

  12. The design you did on your left hand is wonderful, but I reaaaaly like glitter gradients so I'm in love with your right hand! It looks good because the glitter polish you used contains glitters who have the same color as your base colors!
