Hey everybunny! A few weeks ago I was asked to be part of the Color Club bloggers network and I was immediately like YES because I've been loving what Color Club has been doing lately! A couple days ago I got some nail mail from them and part of it was two colors from the spring 2013 Fiesta collection: Flamingo and Wild Cactus. I had had other ideas in mind for nail art that I wanted to do that day, but as soon as I saw these colors I got so excited about how pretty they were that I decided to use them immediately.
Before we move on to pictures - both of these colors are so bright and rich and vibrant that my camera had trouble capturing them properly. A LOT of trouble. I got the pictures as color-accurate as I could, but rest assured that these are even more amazing in person. The most color-accurate picture by far is the one of both my hands at the end of this post!
Color Club Flamingo is a super bright, rich, vibrant pink. It's not quite neon but it's about as close as you can get without actually BEING neon. It covered in three coats and the formula was great - a little streaky on the first coat but perfect and pretty after three.
I have a lot of bright and neon pinks in my collection and nothing quite compares to this one!
Color Club Wild Cactus is a deep, super vibrant teal color. I am seriously IN LOVE with this polish, pictures don't do it justice at all - it's so much richer and brighter in real life! It was opaque in ONE coat, but I did two for the photos to add some extra depth. So. Pretty.
I kept looking at these side-by-side and I loved them so much I had to combine them into nail art!
I knew I wanted to do some bold angular patterns but really didn't have any ideas, so I sat down and drew some out and then just painted them on!
I used my mid-length striper brush to freehand all of these patterns. One nail at a time, I just painted the patterns and lines and then filled them in.
After my polish was dry, I used a drop of nail glue to stick on some star studs that came from this mixed stud set from Born Pretty Store. The star studs were the perfect finishing touch for these - I liked them okay before I added the stars, but after the stars I ended up LOVING them. The studs have rounded backs that make them sit nicely on my nails - I didn't have any pokey or sticky-up parts. I have to say that I seriously LOVE this stud set - I've already used studs from it for 2 other manis that I'll post later this week, and the variety of the studs is so perfect.
I've been on an always-do-both-hands kick, so I did both hands! I'm so proud of the way my dominant hand came out for these nails.
What do you guys think of these? I'm pretty sure I love them a whole lot. They're so bright and contrasty and eye-catching!
You can find Color Club polishes on their website and other online retailers. They're only $6 each on the Color Club website! The listing on Born Pretty Store for the studs I used is here and you can use my code CLJ61 for 10% off your order!

ReplyDeleteSoo gorgeous, these colours set each other off perfectly!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful combination. I like it that your nails are all different (on one hand of course)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous design, the middle finger had got to be my fave though. Your lines are so crisp, I could never get lines like that without striping tape. Do you know how big the star studs are? I've got some that are about 3 or 4mm and they are a bit big for my nails.
